Freedom of Information

The South West Resources Management Committee (RMC), on behalf of South West Councils is committed to working in an appropriately open and transparent way.  Whilst not covered by the Freedom of Information Act, the RMC looks to the officers to strive to conform to the principles of freedom of information as far as practicable.  By using existing systems and process we will aim to respond to all reasonable requests for information in an open and transparent fashion.

In delivering this commitment the RMC is mindful of the need to spend the limited resources available to the staff wisely in delivering the Business Plan commitments agreed by all the  Members.  The RMC will therefore expect the organisation to be mindful of the use of staff resources whilst trying to deal with enquiries.   The RMC would expect the majority of requests to be dealt with by reference to the publicly available information on the website; through the Business Plan, Annual Report and other information produced.

Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)

The RMC is committed to working in an appropriately open and transparent way and would confirm to the principles of the EIR 2004.
