Level 3 Award in Effective Mentoring (ILM)

Course Duration:

  • Attendance at 2 training days (delivered remotely)
  • Attendance at 1 group supervision session and 1 assignment tutorial
  • Participation in up to 2 hours of one-to-one supervision sessions
  • Completion of 6 hours of coaching with a maximum of 2 coaches
  • Completion of the 3 qualification assignments

Description:

This qualification is for those wishing to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively mentor people within an organisational context. It is also an ideal qualification for those who wish to commence a career in  mentoring. When you are registered on an ILM programme, you can, if you wish, activate student membership with the Institute of Leadership & Management to access a range of research documents and resources. If you choose to activate it, this free TILM membership lasts while you are on the programme, until you are qualified. Details of TILM membership can be found here.  ILM learners are also entitled to a 25% discounted membership with EMCC whilst on any ILM coaching and mentoring qualification programme. Content:

  • What it takes to be an effective mentor
  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of effective mentors
  • How to manage mentoring processes using recognised models
  • Put your mentoring skills into practice by carrying out supervised mentoring sessions
  • Analysing your mentoring performance in order to improve own ability

How is it assessed?

It is assessed through completion of 3 assignments:

  1. an essay-style assignment focusing on your understanding of mentoring principles and practices
  2. an evidence-style assignment using practice evidence from your mentoring practice
  3. an evidence-style assignment reflecting and reviewing your mentoring practice

Price:

£682 plus VAT for member organisations
£823 plus VAT for non-member organisations
