Trauma informed practice with Aleks Palanac

This workshop is designed to enable ESOL teachers to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to enable them to safety support their refugee-background students with not only their language learning but also their wellbeing needs (both in terms of mitigating any negative effects of trauma and also potentially supporting students to move on, thrive and grow). It will:

  • outline what refugee trauma is and how it typically presents in the ESOL classroom
  • explore useful trauma-informed pedagogical strategies and apply these to case studies
  • outline what Post traumatic Growth (PTG) is
  • explore useful strategies for facilitating PTG in the ESOL classroom

This is a free event available to South West ESOL Teachers only.

The event is finished.
