Voice of the South West
South West Councils is committed to supporting the region and helping make its voice heard. Work is underway on four workstreams: Economy and Development; Housing; Finance; Health and Prevention. This page will be updated with activity in relation to these as ideas and work develops.
In his Christmas message to colleagues our Chair, Cllr Bill Revans (pictured), set out his thoughts on the work ahead:
“Our work to strengthen the Voice of the South West has brought councils together with a shared purpose and increased confidence – we have started our work with a focus on the region’s most urgent issues from housing and health, to finance, economic development and infrastructure. We have a lot to do but I know we have the drive, commitment and skills to deliver a better future.
Looking ahead to 2026, we remain focused on driving progress for the South West – championing fair investment, supporting sustainable growth, and continuing to speak with one clear regional voice. The foundations we’ve laid this year place us in a strong position on which we can build for a great future in what we all agree is the best region!”
